VACATION!!!

No, the kid was on the bow and the old man was driving. I'm going to report it to the marina office.
 
Gorgeous day yesterday. My oldest headed back home and we hung out at the pool. Bought six lobsters for the three of us and cooked them on the boat. Dinked to town after dinner and walked around.

Leaving today for Essex...
 
Left Newport yesterday morning. Nice ride to Pt. Judith, then hit some heavy fog until Fisher's Island. Heard "Mayday" call, a lobster boat hit a sailboat in BI sound (zero visibility fog there). Arrived safely at Essex Island Marina - we seem to be the only transients here. Ate at the Black Seal last night - good food at reasonable prices.
 
Wow, a place where the rates actually went down?!?!?! Shocking!
 
Topped off our tanks at Between the Bridges marina, at $4.07/gallon, then quick ride to Cedar Island Marina. Spent the day at the pool.

Tomorrow is Steel Drum music and free Pina Coladas at the pool...

HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
 
Cedar Island: $3.20/ft. No extra electric charge. Free shuttle service, free wifi, free pina coladas tomorrow...

WOO HOO!!!!!
 
Sadly, all good things must end...

Spent the day on the pool deck, listening to steel drum music and sipping complimentary pina coladas...[:-spin][:-spin][:-spin]

BBQ tonight, then tomorrow we point the bow west and head home...[:-weepn]

I had a fantastic two weeks travelling eastern long island with my family. We had perfect weather, good sea conditions, outstanding food, and great company. This is what boating is all about.
 
Good deal. Get home safe, glad you had a great time. Whenever we turn the keys off on a trip it hurts a bit but when they go by safely it's all good!

Six hour cruise back today, we managed to miss all the storms around and had a pretty good ride. The snottiest part was coming out of Sputen Duyvil into the Hudson - whitecaps, heavy wind and 3 - 4' choppy seas!

Had a fantastic time with my family! Boat ran great.

I'll post pix when I get a chance.

Thats what it's all about !!

Hopefully next yr you'll return to Cedar Island. Drinks on my at the Aqua if I'm not away on Vacation.
