Watch hill Sailors news

I just had my props re-done this year, so I am thinking of waiting for you guys to dredge it out :). I really have no desire to sit on the bottom and suck crap into the AC unit as well. I am thinking of going to Davis Park, good friends with the bouncer there. Not sure yet, but am pretty sure watch hill is not in the picture. They also have no internet?? So to run there on Wednesday (three days off at work where I can't work from the boat) then the slip conditions, then having to pay for three days to sit on the bottom of the bay, call me silly but does not seem to be fun :)

We should go to the Channel Club and get out of this pond we call a bay :)

We were thinking to go Mem weekend but can't get there until Sat. With a smaller boat I figure I may have a shot Sat morning.

Otherwise will do some day trips.

I'm not planning to go to Watch Hill for Memorial Day. Too much going on at work to take off 2-3 days right now to get there early for a slip. I'll go sometime in the 2-3 weeks afterwards without the holiday rush and potentially warmer weather. Probably try to get in a day of fishing during the long weekend, and do some other day trip possibly. Last year I ended up at Atlantique Monday afternoon once slips started clearing out.

Im not even going to bother... Maybe hang around for the air show .

Rob

Wow, lots of no go's.
This blows.
Not sure I want to go near Zach's.

getting to Zachs is a piece of cake for me but I won't go there. A complete zoo.

Is there any decent spot to watch air show without going into Zachs besides going out in ocean?
Guess if ocean is calm, I would go out.

Yes i am told you can as they fly don't actually fly over the beach for saftey, they are over water.
There is a zone though that keeps boats offshore, not sure how it all works as I never went in ocean to watch.
With your big boat coming from Liberty it's actually a easy run and a great show.

There is a security zone off the beach.

We stopped to see it once from the ocean. Not bad if it is a calm day.

Feel bad for the FOWH as well as the concessionaire.Hope the state gets their stuff together, if not, this place is on a downward spiral :(

On the coach in front of the TV ??? :)

Dave ,
The area around the fishing peer is perfect. Actually anywhere between the Wantagh and Meadowbrook is good.

WE do the ocean on calm days. U can get pretty close. ( not that u need to be close at all . )

Rob

I did the ocean once with Rob's friend Jimmy. As Rob said, yes it is close enough. Key is it needs to be calm in the ocean. What is also cool is you can just drift, no anchor needed.

Dave,
We could just stay at the best place on LI with the best views and amenities (AYC) and like Don said, watch on a big tv. Guess that means my TV since yours is soooo small, LOL and breaking your chops!

I come out of the Channel Club so it's no big deal to get there.

Might have to do it this year.

I upgraded my tv last year. It's now bigger than yours and it swivels so you can't get the perfect angle!!

Doug,
We do this all the time, I am the one that usually starts, then Dave slams it back to me. Nothing more than "children" having fun LOL
