Wind

Unfortunately, too many new, inexperienced boat owners think that their boat handles like a car. They don't understand, wind, current and lack of brakes. They don't give a second thought to the weather or tide. A lot of them have one bad docking experience and never want to go out again.
 
I doubt that even experienced boaters look forward to docking their boats on a very windy day. Personally, I'd rather do it when it is calm. I don't dock often but have to put my 26' express on the trailer; very similiar to docking. I would not expect a new boater or someone with a 'new to them' boat to intentionally try and put it on the trailer in high crosswinds on their first or second outing. In other words they just got the boat, and decided that 30 mph winds is the oppertune time try to learn how the boat handles while I was on the ramp loading my boat. I know it only a boat and I could care less if they damaged their boat, just don't damage my boat through their ignorance.
