2008 Boat Trip

Change of plans again.... Mid July and Mid August

Looks like so far for the longer trips:

July:
- WHB 7/12-13
- Montauk 7/13-16
- Newport 7/16-19
- Greenport or WHB 7/19-20

August:
- AC / NJ - 8/7-10

- Hudson River ??
 
Brad...........We may see you at WHB. We're looking at 7/10 thru 13 at WHB ....so far.
 
Geez, can't you guys make up your minds???
 
Seems to me the last few HRCC-LICC raft-ups have been up the Hudson.
Me thinks it's time for the HRCC to come south.
Let's plan a raft-up on the south shore!

Don, I just called Frank today; and he is in Florida, he penciled me in for those days in WHB. I sent a reservation request online to the Newport Hotel and Marina, hope they are not booked. We will be arriving on a Wednesday so it should be ok. Its funny I pulled up last years trip Itinerary and it was the same week last year that I started the planning and making reservations. Feels good….

Any Newport Hotel experts? I was looking on the downtown map and it is not listed. Is it near Goat Is, or Banisters or the other direction?

It's right next to the Hyatt Shuttle drop off area. Pretty much near the center of town.

Indoor pool, with an outdoor deck, lawn between the marina and the hotel.

Check out the Aquidneck Lobster Company, you can buy fresh seafood there, they will cook your lobster for you.

Dave, I'd like to try to get to Watch Hill for a long weekend this summer.

JohnC is the only one who regularly makes it up the river for a "LICC/HRCC raft-up"! We're still waiting for Dave, Walter, Rob, Don, etc...

Below is a picture of a 2007 LIYC Raft-Up, can you imagine if we had a LIYC/LICC/HRCC in Hemlock or Coast Guard cove… The managers of SS3/MM would be scratching their heads saying Aquapalooza..??? WTF… who called this event.[:-boggled]

Mike, would be great to see you at Watch Hill this summer. Let us know if you start picking dates so I keep the weekend clear.

June and September are great months for Watch Hill. Not as many skeeters....

And I thought that’s what we boaters did in the winter....

I am creating my route for the Newport trip. We are leaving from Montauk, and looking at Mapsource it seems to be about 40 Miles 35NM to Newport harbor. We should be passing quite close to Block Is. What is that the best route? Seems pretty much a straight run.
