2008's 1st official raft-up?

NICE hogan we need it ... I thought I saw you go by sat. accross the river by that orange ball east of stony point in a center console with a jet ski right next to you but I guess it wasn't. I 'm keeping an eye out for the sunrunner and the gov's boat .
What do you think about Roundout next weekend ? maybe just a overnight for ya ? any way don't give up on Macys in the city ( the east side in the harlem river is where it's at buddy- give it a try) just let the dummies take off and wait a few min. then there gone buddy, usually flat as a pancake after that . talk to ya soon Jon

We are staying local for Memorial Day weekend. I may even start the engines on the big boat and take her out!

We did the East River once many years ago and it was worse than NY Harbor. The problem is that it is so narrow and lined with bulkheads that the wakes just bounce off the sides and roll back into the river making it extremely rough.

I much prefer Oyster Bay, if it's high tide, you can see fireworks everywhere you look. Some of the owners on Centre Island put on an incredible display, right over your head.

Sorry to hear you had such bad time ,but don't scare everyone away friends and I always look forward to it and have a great time.Hope you and your crew have fun where ever the the tide takes you this 4th.... now if you don't mind keep working on the weather this weekend or I may be forced to take legal action against you....:) :) :)
take it easy man Jon.

Well Mr G says 80's for Sat, Sun and Monday. Hum, I wonder if he could be right..
What ya think Mike?

Butch, who do you think he got that information/forecast from???

Like in years past, Memorial Day is the official turning point, we are going to have a beautiful weekend weatherwise.

Now the only question is - Bowline, or Croton??

Load up the coolers, boys and girls: GAME ON!!!!

Bull line or Croton ? Why bother even leaving the slip ?

Mabey I should just take a picture of a parking lot, a crummy park, a factory, and place them around my pool ,and sit in my pool raft and pretend I'm there with you guys.
Or better yet you can bring your own rafts and I'll invite you up and we can pretend we have boats,I promise if its on the 4th I won't splash and make waves.
Does anyone cruise anymore then raft - up ? Heading north for a few ----Jon.

Until you raft up with Hogan and his crew you have truely NOT rafted up!!!!! Well worth the trip.

Cruise? First year on the Hudson????? :) You go up the river and down the river. What's wrong with Croton? Nice place to swim and hang out. Not much else on the river where you can walk around in the water assuming the Statue of Liberty pose to keep you beer from getting River water in it (unless you like that stuff(.

Actually we "may" be going to Kingston for their July 4th weekend.

Words from a true rafter....

You know I knew Mr G had to be getting help from someone. I should have known. I heard from the Kremin today begging to raftup. Just cant give in that easy to him....

Sounds like a plan to me. We'll be here. Too many mods to the boat this year to travel.

Jon, which week are you heading out to Block Island?

When ever you guys are ready DON'T HAVE TO ASK ME TWICE !!!
We were actually talking about Mystic next ... But the block would be fine with us. I"ll still buy the fist few rounds.
roundout is my favorite local spot though.
At an esay cruise of about 25-30 mph only takes us a little over an hour & a half or so.... still no takers this weekend I guess???thought I might have at least heard from Pete.
Nice picking on you again Hogan :) ......Jon

We are heading to Port Washington with a couple of other boats for a change of pace. Kingston on Memorial Day is just too cold the last few years...

It's a good 2 hours for me, so that's around 130 gallons round trip, about $600 in gas, then throw in dockage and food/drinks - figure $1000 for the weekend to stay on my boat.

I'd rather raft-up with a bunch of friends in Croton or Bowline and save that money for a trip to the NJ shore and/or Block Island.

Man that sounds tempting rommer Iwas reading about that in soundings a few months ago, sounded nice been to oyster bay a bunch but nevere poked the bow in port washington. are plans are not set in stone , think it's gonna be that much warmer there, you can get a pretty chilly breeze of the sound too this time of year.
when are you guys leaving, what day/ time / about ???? Chart shows like ten marinas in there is it nice ever been before .
Thanks Jon

I hear ya Hogan . hope you im just bustin you chops, just itchy to do some boating mabey the weekend after that I'll catch up with you guys, but if you head to the block let us know really nice there , were easy if you want co. fine or just another boat to head out with thats fine too, always nice to know friends are cruising close by though, catch ya later getting sleepy.... Jon
