For anyone who's built their own boat....

Oh yeah, is it possible to get so wrapped up in what you're doing that you don't notice you've hurt yourself? My left knee feels like someone whacked it with a sledge and I have no idea how it happened! Doh! More Guinness will fix that maybe! ;-)
 
WOW - and I thought my refurb and repower projects were monsters....great stuff and good luck with the build.
 
One of those 'can't look away' threads, keep it coming! And crazy glue has been used as a nontoxic flesh binder in a pinch also...

Thnx for the encouraging words folks. Sometimes I have to sit back and wonder if this is all really happening! ;-) I've been planning it for years but actually starting it sneaks up on you. Anyhow I managed to get the last of the bottom panels done and tucked away and have just sorted out all the side panels to be assembled. One piece was AWOL and I found it hiding behind the 4 large bottom panels I just stacked up. Well a lot of huffin' and puffin' and moanin' and groanin' and I liberated the mislabeled miscreant. I'm a little luckier with the side panels, the extension I have to put in just happens to line up with an existing seam. ;-) I know these pics aren't exciting but it's what I'm doing at the moment.

I found this one on Lori's camera. I don't usually like having my picture taken, I've ruined a few camera's with my ugly mug in the past so this is one of the rare glimpses of yours truly you'll see.

So I'm assuming that as you assemble the larger pieces, you'll need to start fabbing up the craddle or something to support the structure? Do the insturctions give you details on that too? Or are you left on your own to figure that out?

Oh no, it's all there, included in the kit. It's called a "Strongback" and the hull is put together on it upside down. It'll look something like this....

I'll start putting the strongback together as soon as the last long panel is done. A couple of weeks from now maybe.
 
I had to laugh at your futuer with that Bisquik joiner. I did my whole Kitchen/Bath/bedroom cabinets with one of those and a couple bags of Biscuits.
Boy did i learn a lot about "Centering" and "which directions to join from" and some Etc.
A couple times I had to make a nice thin-Kerf cut, destroying a joint, to make a new joint in the same place with better, more attentive, Bisquitrey!
Nothing better for making nice joints though.
I eventually used lots of Biscuits, but I never had to bend any of my work. You may discover a place where too many Bisquits made Gravy out of your Steak.

You may want to put some stained glass in that window up there...whew, the Scarecrow you got looks like a Highly paid Craftsman!

I gotta practice with my bisquick jointer Thud. Gawd forbid I should have to go read the manual! ;-)

I think the exact words that were coming out of my mouth when she took that picture were "What the frack are you doing?" ;-)

I'm still here and following every post - I'm not much of a craftsman so I really don't have much to add, I'm more of a technical/mechanical guy. Neverless, this whole thing amazes me, like I mentioned before, you could have told me building the shed was the project I would have been impressed...keep it coming!

Thnx Willie. I made that up but I've only accomplished the first two so far. But I'm sure there'll be lotsa opportunities to shed a tear or two before this monstrosity is done! ;-)
 
If I recall, more than a small amount of blasphemy is required, too!
