I think everyone is missing the best marina on the Hudson. BAMAR!

It is peacefull quite cove with no waves. What could be better.

Oh Yeah, every time you leave or come in you have to have everyone duck, put the bimini down, and time it in betweeen waves to get under the bridge without hitting it. There are no concerns over depth, only height.

WOOPS, FLipsky a 30 footer is probably 3+ feet to tall, we won't let you in, your loss. You should buy a nice 16 footer so you could slide in.

I think the object is to move up not move down in size.. BTW, how is the pool, gas dock, pump out, ship store, game room and resturant over in BAMAR?

OUCH, somebody can't read well or misses the joke in there. Yes I miss out on the pool, gas fumes, sewage smell, 6 Atari games, and of course the burnt down restaurant. I do however enjoy the price difference. I think that was pretty un called for.

How were the yellow cornflakes this morning?

Todd, that's why we can get away with all the good-natured ribbing that is going on in this thread! Look how much fun we have when we are all rafte-up, regardless of which marina we go back to.

The reality is, whatever marina works for you is the best - if you don't feel that it is, then you need to move.

Yeah but do you guys have a pump out boat that comes to your boat during the week to do the deed??????

Didn't think so. LOL!

OK Guys what is going on... Please pick one

You didn't get the Valetines Day present you were hoping for????

You are stuck in the house way too long and have nothing to do??

Or as you get older you become more grumpier.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!!!

Boy I can't wait to hang out with you this year!!!![:-bonc01]

The winters sucks. Thats the problem I believe.

I may move if I find the right conditions though.

We should have a winter boatered meetup. We can have it at the Bamar club house. (Another Joke)

Maybe we can ease the tension of the winter blues over a cold beer.

Haven't you heard of the "Westchester pump out boat" over at Croton Point?

DOH!!!

Isn't that the pump out that went to Long Island for vacation and never came back?

The only pumping going on is at the fuel dock, and hey, do theeeeeeeeeyyyyy pump you.[:-bigeyes2]

Does that mean that you don't just pump it into the river anymore??? Gina will be happy to hear that!

He doesn't have to Mike. His marina is on the Jersey City sewage outflow line! ;)

I don't, but a lot of guys in my marina still pump over, the loud macerators always give them away.

Ask all the boys at SPBM how many times they've visited the pumpout dock over the years, not many, if at all I remember correctly.

Well while on the pump out topic. Haverstraw's rarely works and when they do they dont work that great. A pump out boat would be great and even if they charged it would work I think.

The marina has some great people at it that make it worth it but the marina needs some serious upkeep.

The rule of thumb on the creek up here is not to go swimming on Monday or Sunday evening since everyone leaving for the weekend macerates before leaving. [:-yuck]

Haverstraw has the best pump-outs in the area. I've found that they usually are working and working well. Sometimes it's a wait to get to them, but that's the price for not having to swim in sh*t filled water.

There are plenty of free pump-outs in our area, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for overboard discharge - People who are too lazy to pump out are inconsiderate A-HOLES!!!!

When I re-did my holding tank two years ago, I eliminated any way to discharge overboard. My waste can only go directly into my holding tank, and then be pumped out.

Haverstraw actually had a tough year with the pump-outs. For some reason they had a number of breakdowns and quite frankly the procedure to get them to work became very bizarre. You had to hit more then one switch on the dock in a certain sequence before vacuum would start to build. Towards the end of the season the pumpout by the diesel end was turned off completely due to a bad hose IIRC.

Anyway, like Mike said, they do suck like crazy when working but as is with all things mechanical they can breakdown sometimes. They also consistently had the best fuel prices for the season last year. Another 2 thumbs up for Haverstraw!

Mike, I agree 100%. I also eliminated the "Y" valve on the last boat. Haverstraw definitely has good pumpouts. Twice when I went to Panco to fill up, the pumpouts were broken. Both times I went to Haverstraw to pumpout. To the point, I give up on Panco. I also found Haverstraw leaves their pumps on after the gas dock closes. I'm not sure if this is by design or not but I've used them after hours, usually Sunday evenings. This year I'll be buying gas exclusively from Haverstraw as an appreciation of.....their taking my $hit!

I agree Mike, I absolutely hate people who are too lazy to pump out. They ruin OUR river.

I must admit, I am guilty of polluting our river. Early in the season before I was familiar with where pump outs were, My son and I pissed off our swim platform. Sorry guys, won't happen again. However you can thank me for the warm water this summer.

MJK

Actually, peeing off the swim platform is legal.

As long as the waste has not been in any sort of receptacle you can discharge LEGALLY directly in the water. Now you may have an issue with indecent exposure but thats a horse of a different color.
