Then what's the point? They really are great and fun to watch!

Yeah, no Angels, that kind of sucks. But there is always a lot of other things. We have a big raft up going on, so it's really more about that. We'll have the slushy machine going with Mudslides, Strawberry Daiquiris and Pina Coladas.

I was at the rehab the other day visiting Bill and his daughter ask him to buy a slushy machine like yours so she looked it up while we were there and told him it's real cheap it's only $65 then she realized that was a daily retail we had a good laugh! It started me thinking though, it's time for a raft up and some Mudslides:)

Since some of you are keeping score I'll update you. There are 26 boats in SPBM as of 4:40 PM wednesday when I left. I don't think any more are going in today because the tide is low. The pool is ready to go. They drained it, shoveled out the mud and painted it. They were putting the ladders in when I was there. The pile of old docks and new lumber is gone. The yard is all cleaned up. I for one am impressed with how much they have done and how fast they have done it. As I said Wayne is quicker on the draw than his competition.

That's good news for those who are staying at SPBM!

You will have the only pool open this weekend, as Haverstraw's is not ready.

Ken I give a lot of credit to SPBM I think they did a great job! I don't plan on returning anytime soon but I understand why others stay and are happy. I'm hoping others return and continue to fill all of the area marinas. Boating is a passion that most of us share in fact it's the one thing we all agree on.

I wish everyone a great healthy happy and safe season!

It's almost Memorial Day and we are not using our pool in SC yet. Who the hell is using one in NY? Weather it's ready or not doesn't make a tinkers damn.

It was 93 a couple of days ago I would have used a pool if it was ready! My daughter is a lifeguard her job begins this weekend and I'm sure there will be people at the pool!

Not if she's working at Haverstraw...

No she didn't get enough hours from them last year so she changed jobs and works in your development in fact I think it's your pool. I'm not sure but I think they open this weekend but you would know better then me! She has been working 5 jobs lately it seems like we are two passing ships at night. She has my work ethic, she is a great kid no one is pushing her to work at all we give her everything she could ever need but she enjoys it and pulls straight (A)s in school so I'm not complaining anytime soon:)

As for the HM pool it will open soon they clearly have their priorities in order all the docks are repaired water power I think even cable TV they are just about done with all the upgrades the pool was low on the list but just about down as well. This is more then I can say about any of the other marinas in the area!

What I find interesting is most of the negative comments about HM have been about the cost and I certainly understand this they are not cheap but in my opinion you get what you pay for. Yes I know they charge extra for this or that but as long as I can afford it I'm happy to be there. If things change and I can no longer afford it I will make the best of wherever I would go! I would like to believe I won't knock them just because I could no longer afford to stay there! And this day may come.

Sorry, I'm having a bad day I woke up on the wrong side of the bed look out world!

Dave, I hope you know that all the "knocking" of each other's marinas is done in jest.

So long as everyone is happy where they are, then they have made the choice that is right for them. You have to take all the factors that are important to you, put them into perspective, and choose what you want.

I'm just sorry that I won't be able to get out all summer because the water is too low.

BTW, you should ask HM for a reduction in your slip fee, you say you have 17' under your boat, but the marina touts an average of 24' of water - they owe you 7'.

Dave...I used to think "you get what you pay for". I don't buy into that at all anymore!! Not talking about Haverstraw or any other marina...just the phrase in general. Notice the work ethic lately of some well compensated employees....just as an example!

Can't open the article on my iPad. Hope they got pics of my left side like I asked. I'm much more photogenic that way.

Sorry they are all from you Starboard side:) Very nice article, great video clip and photos! makes your boat look huge. Since when does Gayle drive the boat?

It wasn't Hank's boat, there were no orange kayaks on the bow...

They were going to go on today but I may need them to get out of my house with all of this rain. I'm still hoping for Sunday night raft up but it's going to be a last minute call.
