Great time with our friends at HM this weekend, Dinner, drinks, good company, 17' low tide Mike, there's a slip for you
 
Mike,
We can put you at the other end if you only want 5', but you will have 10', this marina is you and Gina, you would fit right in !!!!!
 
Wayne stop telling everyone we like to keep it to a selected group we only want the good ones:)

Mike has trashed the place for so long I think he would be to embarrassed to come now!
 
Dave/Wayne if Mike decide to move to HM they will make us consign the application and guaranty good behavior.
 
Despite the weather it was a good weekend. The marina is looking fantastic. Trees, plants, and mulch have been installed. The pool is almost ready and everything is looking great!

We will be up Thursay - Monday and planning to be out if the weather cooperates.

Really, when did I "trash" it?
 
"The docks are to hot the walk it to far the parking is to far no BBQs the price it to high and then there is the restaurant charges to much for a hamburger etc. etc."

OK maybe it's more of a complaining then a trashing.

I drove through PBM yesterday I was surprised at how few boats were in what's up with that? There is a big kick off weekend coming why are there still so many boats on land? Not just there but everywhere.

For the most part, they do not have docks ready for their boaters.
 
Some of the boats on land at PB are damaged from Sandy and I believe C & D dock are/were still being repaired. Got to keep in mind, the damage, clean-up and repair at PB was beyond cosmetic, mulch, plants & trees. They lost their entire office & store. Some off the docks & boats floated away etc. I saw first hand both Haverstraw & PB immediately after the storm & there was no comparison. Considering what it was, I give then all the credit in the world for how far they've come in such a short time. Never did I believe they would be able to get a boat in by April, including my own. Yet they did. Pretty freaking amazing!!
 
I understand there are 40 slips sold at SPBM I counted 17 boats in the water now, out of 400 slips that were there. I hope they can bring that marina back.
 
I think Haverstraw took on more damage than people think. Being that it is so big, it was just spread out further. Gas docks were gone and repaired, same for restaurant, retaining wall, several docks, office, pool were all destroyed and repaired. Having said that, every marina has their own issues they must deal with. As far as the others go, SPBM has done a better job then the others in getting their place back in order. I know that is hard for many to swallow but it is pure fact and they were just as devastated as the others in the area, if not more so. Of course there are no North Docks anymore but they have plenty of docks for their customers and plenty open. They probably have more built then the others combined.
 
PBM had 3/4 of its docks damaged or destroyed. They are all rebuilt and ready to go, it is the company that is supposed to drive the pilings that is holding them up.

Neither, just pointing out why I'm perfectly happy where I am, and why I'm staying there.

I am sure that true. It is also true SPBM had 100% of their docks destroyed and they have way more done then the others yet a two page thread was created on their repairs. I for one would be very upset if my boat was not in the water because there was no slip ready for me and its Memorial Day weekend. You all can't slam the others without looking in your own back yard. People who live in glass houses......
 
SPBM put the same pilings back in with their barge & excavator. Ask the numerous boaters who left there if they are happy they did, and whether they will go back. Then ask them why...
 
So are you saying they have more equipment then the others and are able to repair quicker then others? I think thats a great thing. Almost all the folks that left went to HM. Not the others. Deep water blah blah blah. I am one of them and am very happy with my choice. I still maintain that if I was told that my marina would be up and running for the season and I could not get my boat in the water, I would not be happy. I also dont see the others using higher pilings for their docks. BTW, I stand corrected, it was three pages on SPBM and they have their own fire truck just in case.
 
PBM put in new taller steel pilings on the wave dock.

Just curious, Haverstraw does have it's wonderful qualities that's for sure and because of that I was there 10 years and never say never to going back. Those of you who have relocated there and are in love with the place, and all it has to offer like kids with their first ice cream cone. I get that, but why did it take you all so long to go there? I mean, they always had a pool, deep water, dock boys, Tiki Bar, restaurant, game room etc. etc., if a resort type marina like Haverstraw is what you were looking for, why were you guys in SPBM in the first place, especially if you have a big boat in a marina with no water.
