10 is supposed to be the high tide in Amityville. It does keep edging up here. I now have around a foot and half of water on my dock. Power is still on. Winds are strong but not ridiculously so.
South of Montauk Hwy is flooded. Its a long walk thru 4' of water from Montauk to the Anchorage. Maybe bring a PFD,,,no kidding, we were wearing them on the dock tending lines earlier. Good luck.
Strongest winds of the storm right now. No rain. Bay is over the seawall and on the street. High tide is 9:56am so we will be getting a rising water experience for the next two hours. We still have electric, internet and Directv.
Has anyone made it to the Anchorage yet this morning? Been at work since 0700 yesterday won't be able to make it down until Monday night at 7pm when I get off. If anyone can advise that would be great.
OK. I now have a debris line in my driveway. The water has retreated. From where it is hitting my deck in back, I'd say it's down an inch from the high.
tide is receding in west islip a bit. was inces away from floating my sharpie off the trailer. i was about to see if boats could float with a trailer tied to it.
Any Wantagh/Bellmore updates? I'm up the canal near merrick rd across from Mill Pond. I'm sure the water will have breached my bulkhead...the question is how high?
some nut just kayaked down mine. we still have power which is why i wont go wading thru this . someones house isnt grounded correctly I'm sure. this pic was from about an hour ago. went down a few inches since then
