You should have a generator.

Power's been out since about 4 here. Gen's running strong. No fumes. Got enough wind to keep the exhaust away.

Finding a generator right now is like finding a snowblower the day after a 2 foot snow storm.

Home depot and lowes got trailers of generators yesturday and today. Had 2 friends get one friday and one this morning.

I think it is a little late for a generator. I have been using my Honda EX5500 for 10 years. This thing is amazing. Super quiet, liquid cooled 3 cylinder electric start. It been running since 7:00pm tonight.

Latest report, lower Manhattan's power is out and the Brooklyn Battery tunnel is flooding. Not looking good.

Hope everyone is ok despite the outages - prayers are with your families and your vessels. Not sure of situation in Kingston, hope my big boat is ok but otherwise its a non event for us north of Albany. Be safe everyone!!!

I had a tree fall across my driveway so I'm trapped here until I can move it. I see roof shingles all around my yard not sure how much damage there is yet.
Haverstraw marina put out a Facebook message this morning stating there has been devastating damage to both the local marinas and boats advising us to stay home. How can one stay home after reading this?

Given what we went through upstate for Irene etc. I'd say you may have no choice. Travel in your area is going to be near impossible if the wind did anything like it did last year up here. Trees, power lines, bridges out, name it.
Our hearts are with you all and we hope everyone is safe.

Sorry to hear that Dave. Staying at home is probably a good thing right now anyway. You surely can not change what is at the marina. Better to keep yourself and your family safe at home. FWIW, I can not go to the boat either. They have announced on tele since last night that Baltimore is closed to traffic due to so much flooding.

Left the Rondout around 5am, huge, fast surge lifted many boats off stands at 1am, some off their stands. RYB's Jeff deserves a hero's award and pay raise. He rowed in a 10' fiberglass as many as he could back to the docks, tying them up and going back for more. Wind, rain, dark. Anyone else would've walked away. The water level higher than Irene. Docks held because not much current just history making water rise. Boaters check engine compartments. Several bilge pumps were going for more than two hours.

Im at the marina..its a disaster almost all boats thatstayed in are on land and the first row floated. Mike your boat is ok.

Thank you Lou. I'm still at work, hoping to get out soon to head down. Are you OK?

Yeah..i lost a stand and got a small scratch but its still standing..allthe boats along the fence look ok. The ones in frobt of narina office didnt do so well

Two of our members, Al Davis and his SO Janice were at Haverstraw to ride it out. I got an email at 7:30 last night that they were heading for shore as the floating docks were under water.
Boat is a 42 Hunter sailboat called Quantum Joy.
Any info would be appreciated as they are far from home and on their first trip south.

Wow, it has got to be a mess down there. I'm probably heading down around 1.
