This was the ride over yesterday between NAS and Eleuthera. I couldn't video the worst of it in the NW Channel as it was too rough and I had to hand steeer to avoid the ones breaking

Now you know what the ride is like in a 43' Hatt ;)

8 years on an unstabilized 70 skylounge with tender, jet ski and soare wheels up top... believe me... i know. :)

The 0500 NOAA plot I'm looking at shows IRMA over Tampa with hurricane force winds.

We're Evacuated Times Two. Based on original forecast, we went to the corner where FL GA and AL meet. That lasted two nights. Now we're just north of Atlanta and rain started in earnest at 0500. No wind yet.

I hope all of you South Florida people came through with no serious problems.

I cannot remember another storm that has followed the predicted track as well as this one has. It has very VERY predictable.

I closed the shutters on the Southwest side of my house yesterday morning and said I will leave then closed through October.

Irma passed east of st. Pete. Bay was well down as wind pushed water out. Most boats in muni marina ok . One sunk when it got stuck under concrete docks in Vinoy then water came back in. Lots of power and road problems but much better than if the stom had passed offshore.

Trump should call out National Guard.
It's gonna get ugly in Keys I bet.

I'd rather be there then a destroyed mainland city.

People will help each other and protect each other.

Ft Laud and Miami are far worse places to be without power.

Trump can't call out the National Guard, they are under the control of the Govenor of each state (unless nationalized for overseas service in time of war). That's the whole reason they are the Guard and not the Army.

Sounds like they have all sorts of resources headed down to the Keys and elsewhere.

Well we ended up with the weakened eye right over us on Cape Coral. The visuals of the boat are canvas and some rub rail. However I will not know the extent of the running gear damage until Thursday. When the storm moved north out of the Keys, it sucked out the water of our canal and the boat ended up on the bottom per my neighbor. My diver who stayed said he would jump in and give me a report on Thursday.

The house faired ok, just pool cage, a neighbor tree fell on our fence, our magnolia tree blew over. Weird as it was between the houses.

We are staying in our motor home up in Chattanooga until the power is back on.

What I've learned about evacuating in a MoHo is that we need to go farther than we would in a car to a house or hotel. Met a man in a gas station, said he was pulling into a commercial campground. Police officer followed him in. Said "You can put your RV here, but I'll be back in the afternoon to order you to the Shelter." My man was moving on.

Proud of our Jacksonville Electric Authority, and Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Power's coming back even with scrappers trying to steal their poles.

Ain't no margin in extruded aluminum shapes, the scrap yards know the stuff is hot and the legitimate ones will not purchase, just like rail road iron. Knuckle heads should be on the copper pipe and copper wire circuit if they want to make coin.
