Just trying to catch up. I missed a lot in one day.

Heading up to the boat early tomorrow with the Admiral and crew. School has completed, my daughter graduated 8th grade with all A's & B's, my son completed 6th grade with straight A's for all 4 marking period and achieved the highest GPA, ranked #1 in his class and achieved 5 academic awards. We are truly proud of their achievements and will be celebrating this weekend!

Nice Bob, thats really great. My kids going for two hours, i will be picking them up and coming down to the marina as well. Probably be in the pool.

Thanks Allen.
Looks like a good weekend for boating.

However if it is a stated agreed value policy, and you are paying the premium, that is what they will pay for a total loss.

Also those vacations in Hawaii must be working with the home school and everything. :-) nothing like good mom and dads education. :-)

So I wonder if this mechanic still has a job.

Lots of questions here, Smelt gas, did he look for source, was hatches opened, did he use blower or did he just start the engine. Don't think I would want him working on my boat. Good news is he did not get hurt but now the owner is out of a boat.

My real concern at this point ( not trying to start anything) is why on earth the marina looks so empty?

Went over to HM for gas this evening expecting a crowd at the gas dock and no one was there. The attendant said there are no crowds there anymore. He said no one is using their boat and their fuel sales are way down. Another result of empty slips because of the bad economy.

You are probably 100% right. Dock master here said today they thought they were going to be full but lots of people lost their boats so there are empty slips here as well.

In South Jersey the marinas around us including mine are only at about 30% tops.

Sandy is still being felt. A lot of people still waiting on that insurance check and when they get it they have to wait on the fiberglass repairs. There are only so many people that are doing the repairs.

It's not just Sandy. Look at all the shrink wrapped boats still on the hard. No wonder fuel sales are down.

Doing our best to use some fuel. Spending the weekend on our mooring in Lloyd Harbor. Gorgeous out here!

Looks Like I may have to bite the bullet and fill up as well:( I've have used my boat every weekend and yesterday I noticed my fuel gauge is starting to get down there, I had to run the boat to my canvas shop for some adjustments which I must say I'm very happy with!! I guess I will have to pay a visit to the fuel dock, I hate when this happens.

As for the boat fire that was a real nice boat sorry to hear it was destroyed!

My kids are using plenty of fuel, we planned on taking Giggity to the Cove last night, but there was only one bar left in the tank, and the resort style HM gas dock was closed, so we had to come back...

It's a shame the tide wasn't high enough to take the big boat!

Actually, it was, but the water at The Cove is too low.
