Folks...It is with great sadness that I have to be the bearer of bad news.

I got a call this morning that our fearless leader Les has crossed the bar.

Hoist a cold Kalik in his honor and keep his Admiral Elaine in your thoughts and prayers.

If anyone is so inclined, please feel free to post any messages to Elaine here, thoughts, memories of Les, etc. I will print them and get them to her.

Terrible news! Rest in Peace Les, you will be missed.

Sorry for your loss Elaine.

Kevin

Les Hall we are saddened by your passing. Throughout the years you have provided a place where boaters could mingle and share knowledge. Your contributions to the community were always valued and tempered in spite of the personality challenges.
Your battle with cancer is an inspiration to all of us.
Fair winds, calm seas.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

The world is a little less bright with his passing. He will be missed. I am glad to have known him, even if it was "only online".

Les called a few weeks ago and while he sounded in good spirits I was concerned. We have talked many times over the years and while we had never met face to face we shared many personal stories. I'll have more to say as time allows my thoughts to be collected. Right now all I can say is travel well my old friend. God Bless Elaine and family.

So sad, after so may years it seems as if we were neighbors. I will miss him.

Very sorry for your loss. He had a tough few years but always stayed positive. He'll be missed by a couple thousand of people that never had the pleasure of knowing him personally.

Very sad to hear this. Thanks for sharing. Godspeed, Capt. Les.

Rest in Peace Les. Condolences to his family. You gave so much to the boating community, and you are a major loss to that group. I am sure you will organize Heaven.

Sorry to hear this. Was a good guy.

So where does this leave boatered? Are we on borrowed time too?

Les and George created a wonderful boating community here. Cod Bless , Les! Long live the GTBC. Here's to you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Peaceful waters...

A big loss for everyone who knew him. He faced his fate bravely and with good humor to the end. You learn so much from people like Les who fight for life but do not fear death. God Bless Les Hall!

Boating and boater education have suffered a huge loss.

OMG. It seems I lost a very close friend, even though we never spoke or met! You will me missed by thousands, dear friend Les.
He deserves a tremendous send off, but with his friends scattered throughout the world, that seems insurmountable.
You will always be in our hearts, Les!

First George and now Les. I have lost friends that can never be replaced even though we never met face to face.

Fair winds and following seas Les.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Les, but I felt like he was an old friend. He shared so much with us and created this wonderful site.

The world will be a lesser place without him.

I am truly devastated.

So sorry to hear this news about Les! Rest in peace and thank you for creating this website that has educated many and brought great fellowship as well.
