SPBM Bill

Bob pool was included alway's since new owners, we were all very happy about that, i would check into that before paying.

I agree Todd. No place is perfect.

They said Cherri should have been billing everyone and never did.

Dont get me wrong - We enjoyed it there last year.

Sounds like they are going back to the old way of charging for the pool.

FWIW, I never had an issue with paying a facilities fee and then an extra charge per AC unit since SPBM did not meter electricity. Worked out being MUCH cheaper for us, the boater. When the new owners added the pool as part of that fee I was pretty surprised since we hated paying the extra approx $200 so my wife and I could go in the pool maybe once a year and it seemed like the loss of revenue of the pool fee's would be hard for them to absorb.

Not very likely that we will pay the re-imposed pool fee's since it just doesn't make sense for us. As for families with kids, lets see, an extra $235 for the pool and let's say 2-4' at $74 per when they measure you for LOA and what is that another $500 on top of what you "think" you were going to pay.....

Remember, running to Shop-Rite to by up all their Clorox gets expensive! :)

they might want to be reminded that Patsy's explicitly says "pool included" for their $250 facility fee. And (according to the PB website), they don't charge extra for the AC.

When I first came up to SPBM, you had to pay for the pool pass, it was about $100 for a family. We'd rather swim in the Hudson. Then they cancelled the pool pass program, which was nice, especially if you had little nieces / nephews visiting. I'd check, Rob -- and maybe talk to someone other than whoever gave you that info.

so what do they say is included in the facility fee they charge? (the $155 / $205?)Their website says, and I copy here:
"*facility fees are for dockside power, dockside water and all other amenities on our premises.".

I'd think the pool is a key amenity, wouldn't you?

As was explained to me in the past, in addition to the above you have things like the BBQ grill propane, cleaning of picnic tables, tennis balls/rackets/net repair, etc.

Not justifying things just telling you what I was told.

I talked to both marina managers/personnel there.

My problem is since we are on "G" dock (No problems there) and the pool is right there behind the boat. If there is a fee and our boat is there I will have to pay the fee. My kids would go nuts seeing the pool and not being able to use it. I did not see any lifeguards asking for passes last season either.

They should have told everyone this before giving people a bill at the end of the season which are contracts if you gave deposits, should be interesting to see how people react to this one.

So let me understand this. All Amenities doesn't mean All Amenities? A pool is an amenitie last time I checked. I'm afraid to go down there to put a deposit on a slip. My wife was even talking about spending more time down at the baot and she can take the kids swimming and to the playground while I'm at work. For the extra $235 I can join bowline and use there awesome amenities.

One thing I can't stand is the nickel and diming someone to death. It's not even the money it's just the fact that your just being an Ahole when you do that. Give me a price all in and leave me alone.

I think everyone is jumping first, when I called about the service fee they said that was a mistake, maybe the pool add on is too, I think the people doing the billing really are confused. Remember Cheri did the billing and she is no longer at the office. I would call and guestion it.

The pool is extra. They said it should have been billed all along. I thought that for the full time members the pool access was included.

Is this right? I may be looking to move and not get nickel and dimed for everything.

Rob,
The person who stated that Cheri should have been charging is incorrect. When Wayne took ownership he removed the pool fee, he stated this to all members of the marina. It's always easy to blame someone when they are no longer employed with a company. Cheri and Tara were both very proficient at their job. If there was to be a charge for the pool, information and cost would have been distibuted to all member of the marina. Evidently there is miss communication that has taken place.

Stewart and Gee both told me we owe and that Cheri was wrong with everyone and if we wanted to use the pool we had to pay. They called me out of the blue. They said everyone should be billed for this and will be.

Like MJK said - its not the point of the $235 it's the nickle and dime and get the story straight.

What is Wayne Jr's involvement in the marina? Is he aware of the games that these guys are playing with his marina?

I am glad I have a winter hobby / activity. I haven't thought about the boat since the shrink went on... See you in the spring

I really haven't thought about it that much until I got the aggravating phone call.

Let me know if anyone else gets the pool bill.

You guys should quit your bitchin'. Anyone who has been around Stony Point boating for the past 20 years knew what the future held over there.

Go price marinas in the sound (Brewers) and and down in Jersey City. Your bill is cheap compared to the bigger deep water marinas around NY/ Eastern LI Sound.

How about this..............

Anyone that doesn't like the way SPBM does things, LEAVE

The rest of us will have more room
