I got a letter telling me the Channel Club Marina is installing all new floating docks. The same dock system installed at Liberty Landing. Some of the best docks around.

Should be a busy spring down there.

Everywhere, so much work.

I haven't been there in years I would like to visit this year specially if they are going to have floating docks.

Same here, we usually go to Belmar but would love to spend 2 nights each.

I hear Belmar has really cheap fuel.

Yes, they do. I love their docks, they are like a parking lot. Other then the fishing boats leaving early in the morning it is a great spot. Right next to town and West Marine :-) also a short train ride to point pleasant.

Ok, i remember Dave mentioning something about that but that was years ago. They moved the trash cans that used to be by the transient docks and also there used to be a parking lot next to the transient docks that is now paved. No cars. They fixed it very nicely.
I love Belmar also because thats where i met the first Trojan boat owner. :-)

The current can be a real bitch when docking at Belmar in the transient slips. Every time we've gone there we've had our choice of slips so could select one with the current in mind. Not sure I'd want to try it at full ebb with full slips.

Haven't been there in a few years, may have to but it on the list for this summer. anyone know how they made out with Sandy?

Agreed, current is a bitch there when docking. No idea how they did in the storm

Do they have fuel there? Any idea what the price is?

That's great, will they have more transient slips? It's a great destination, but that hour ride up the river sucks...

They do have fuel, very cheap. Always $0.50-$0.60 less per gallon. I called them and LM. Want to ask them how they are doing ...

rommer was there a few years ago, I'm surprised that he never mentioned that the fuel was that much cheaper!

I've docked at Belmar and the current is a little tricky. If you want a challenge, try docking at Shadows on the Hudson. I have never seen anything like it. The current going through there is so quick, you are worried that the debris flowing through will damage your boat. I made a turn in that marina and my boat did a 180 before I could blink an eye. The only way to manage docking is walking the boat sideways the entire length to your slip. It was fun once I realized it but scared the hell out of me on the way in.
