This has to be the longest winter ever

No damage from Sandy

New GPS antenna, new transducer, new fuel senders, one new raw water pump, new mascerator (wiring is there but cheapo didn't buy the option) and a few other odds and ends.

Did I mention I had no damage from Sandy?

;-)

One more thing. Better let the town guys know your boat is out east.

They may worry about the guy who always calls about the missing buoys in March.

Heard the buoys are going in early this year on the south shore, but not the north shore :)

LOL..... Ahh love my friends !

Even though u wont believe me , Im happy u dont have any damage.

Walt, Its the one time i like the fishing aholes. Buoys are in for them all year round im told. Atleast around greenport and shelter. : ) block island in april....... Should be nice . ( oh sorry dave )

Rob

No issues with block, don't go to Champlins!
We do need to plan some trips.

I can have the little boat ready to go in a matter of hours.

take the shrink wrap off
install the battery
put gas in it
start the motor on land
hook trailer to truck
take to ramp
start motor (yes ill make sure the plug is in before i launch), and off I go

thats it

COMPANY! I have travelers and no check...seems everyone else is good to go, many have even purchased new boats!!!

Just yanking Robs chain. I feel bad for everyone dealing with damage and insurance companies.

I think they all suck. Just some more than others.

Walshie.... I know people paid in full ... its really sad... hoping for progress soon.

I'll probably go in late April. I don't have a lot to do, time to start putting together a checklist though and figuring out when to get started. I still have stuff to do on the house, I feel like the winter is going quick and I'm running out of time to get my planned house projects before it's boat prep time!

I can't help myself. This month of February has been windy , cold, rainy, windy, snowy, sleety , windy and windy. Did I say it was windy, it seems like it is blowing 25 mph or better every day.
I need spring.

Billy 10K.

Rob,
Just luck or maybe bad luck I had no damage :)
Hope your gig gets resolved real soon!!!!!! Really sucks about travelers, I too have them, guess I should dump them and tell them why?
My boat is insured for 345k 1 percent deductible paying around 1900 a year. I mention this because Boat US sent me out a letter saying they are competitive and want my business. So I fill out the form, send it in and a few weeks later, they quote me $4700.00 for the same coverage, REALLY!!!!

Yep...BoatUS is not very competitive at all but, Walter, there are others out there that might be the same as Travelers in rates but not is as dire straights. You might consider others. NBOA as suggested by Dave came in with two very low quotes from two A rated ins companies for more boat coverage (500 liability too) than you have for me.

Travelers has been disasterous on yacht claims and are not very competitive.

I still say NBOA. Just look at the facts.
Paid off in full in 6 weeks, no questions asked, plus haul out, plus seatow bill.
Re-insured for $1100 with 1% deductible. No named storm deductible.
A rated company.
Granted my boat is a little cheaper than you guys, but I doubt you will be alot higher. I actually insured this boat for more than last boat and more than I paid this time.

Also NBOA gives free towing. I still have seatow becuase to use their free towing, you pay and they reimburse you.

In addition, having NBOA in your corner helps alot as when there was a point in my claim where I felt I was not getting any feedback. One call to NBOA and the claim rep from the insurance company was calling me back!

So cheap rates, good service, and full responsibility. That's insurance!

The travelers, progressives, boatus you have to pay for all that expensive advertising they do!

Unfortunately, it looks like we're not going in this season. I need some spinal surgery on my neck and will not be allowed to go boating for up to a year till everything heals. Now, I'm just counting down to the 2014 season. I wish all of you a safe, fun, and interesting season. Hy
