Buoys were attempted to be installed early this year but ice was too thick. Based on this and the timing of the boat operator we will not have buoys installed until late July. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
and can I ask why u need buoys by u ? As long as ur not going south EVERYTHING EAST is a cake walk. Come by me and ud crap ur pants doing it with out buoys .
I wish I knew Merrick Bay better. When I had the center console I ran a channel from the meadowbrook bridge into merrick bay, and then the markers stopped.
YEars ago i ran my CC aground in early spring . west side of meadowbrook right opposite meadow brook # 2. I never laughed so hard. No buoys only that stupid day mark that no longer marks anything. Funny its still there !!!!
Anyway its just years of doing it and knowing land based landmarks. ( trees ) Funny once trees have leaves they are useless.
LEts just hope they stay to their word and we can get rolling !
If you zoom all the way in in plotter and follow what should be a sold black cookie trail and go slow, that doesn't work?
I came out of watch hill with fog once. Couldn't see crap. Did that and it was actually pretty easy.
That only works if you are going in the same route. When I ran into Merrick Bay, there wouldnt be any cookie trails as I never ran through there before...
Bruce,
