Spring Boaters Fling

Well, Al, as everyone can see, my memory is going.....going.....gon......... almost!

At least I still remember what I intend to bring ;>)
 
Al, I petty the one that's stuck in the middle. I am going to get there early, and park myself next to Garlic Bros. The aroma will be a lot nicer.
They said we can sit up tables on the dock. I will bring one large enough for the food. I will be putting the boat in at their ramp so I will have my pickup there if anyone needs anything from town.
 
What about paper goods/flatware/etc. for the pot-luck? I can bring as my contribution or does everyone plan on using their own stuff?

If anyone's looking for ideas, if we end up with 20 folks for Friday's dinner, we'll probably need another main course meat like BBQ chicken or something. I'll be bringing 3 full racks of baby back ribs, each about 20 inches long.

It looks like FlyWright is down for the count, at least until mid-April. A new exhaust manifold is on order and I'm busy collecting and fabricating new parts to reassemble the stbd exhaust system.

There's a possibility that my friends Gene and Bernie will come with "Bot" (pronounced 'boat'), a 42 Jefferson, in FlyWright's place. It depends on some health issues. If it works out, I'll be hitching a ride with them. Even if I have to swim, I'll be there!!
 
It sounds to me that there is a preconceived notion that beans and me equals something (LOL) that is not necessarily true (or false). All that aside I have adaquate ventilation for such occasions as may be needed... Not that it will be needed... but, just in case... :]
 
I suggest that each boat provide its own paperware and such as well as its own beverages. That will keep it simple and I bet all boats already have what they need onboard.

Those ribs sound great!

BTW, docking near to Garlic Brothers means loud music until 1AM.....unless they do not have a band that weekend....
 
Been a while since I have been on forum but glad I checked in. Village west is where my boat calls home. Count me in.

Hi all - I'm back from Maui. Had a fantastic trip - a bit of rain, but enough good weather to get a headstart on a tan!

This is turning into quite a party - I'm ready to kick off spring with a bang! I'm heading down to my boat on wed to make sure everything is ready to go and should head to VW on friday. Ar there still a bunch thinking of cruising together from Moores? If so, I'm up for it. Seems we were meeting early afternoon as I recall, and that should work for me because my Brother will be down about 11:00 or so.

Look forward to finally meeting all you crazies!!!

For whats its worth, the long range forcast calls for sunny and low 70s. Iam hoping its wrong and that it will be sunny and mid to upper 70s. It makes the beer go down that much nicer....That is if I drank beer..

Hey folks... I would like your input on entering 14 mile slough from the San Joaquin River. From which side of Morrison Island should I enter... The west (or down river)... or the east, or upstream of the #33 green buoy? Or... where is "Moores"? Is that where people are meeting up/ If so when on Friday?
 
Use the downstream entrance. Just remember to give the tip of Morrison Island a wide berth as you go by. Also, be careful when you merge with the other entrance as it is a busy blind corner.
 
Greg, 14 Mile Slu entrance. Either side is acceptable. I'd go slow due to possible shouling around either entrance. Then it is ok to get on plane until you start to approach the sharp bend. Go to idle, and be prepared for the sudden appearance of a boat cutting that corner too sharp......
